Premiere Entertainment Group (PEG), a Los Angeles-based production, financing, and sales company, has acquired worldwide rights to action western TAKEN FROM RIO BRAVO starring three-time “Mr. Universe” winner Alexander Nevsky (Showdown inManila, Black Rose). The film, which is being presented at the Cannes market, is a sequel to Gunfight at Rio Bravo which also starred Nevsky.
The action western sees the return of the mysterious Russian gunslinger who teams up with a sheriff in pursuit of a gang of sadistic human traffickers known as The Posse, who have kidnapped five women. Joe Cornet, Cynthia Rothrock, Irina Antonenko, Matthias Hues, Tatiana Neva, John Fallon, Kerry Goodwin and Don “The Dragon” Wilson round out the key cast.
Directed by Joe Cornet (Prayer for the Damned) from a screenplay by Craig Hamann (Showdown in Manila), Gunfight at Rio Bravo stars and was produced by three-time Mr. Universe Alexander Nevsky (Maximum Impact). The film has the following synopsis:
When mysterious Russian gunslinger Ivan Turchin rides into a small Texas town, he runs afoul of a bloodthirsty outlaw gang known as The Hellhounds. Outmanned and outgunned, the town must put their trust in Turchin to protect them from annihilation at the hands of the bandits. The gunslinger finds allies in the form of Marshal Austin Carter and Sheriff Vernon Kelly, and together the three must make a desperate stand against impossible and violent odds.
Cornet also has an acting role in Gunfight at Rio Bravo. He and Nevsky are joined in the cast by Olivier Gruner (Nemesis), Matthias Hues (Dark Angel/I Come in Peace), Natalie Denise Sperl (Mank), Kerry Goodwin (Promise), Russian actress/supermodel Anna Oris (making her Hollywood film debut), and Arrow in the Head founder John Fallon (100 Feet), a.k.a. The Arrow!
World Premiere of “Gunfight at Rio Bravo” took place in Tucson, AZ on January 17, 2023. The stars and creators walked the red carpet at the historical Loft Cinema in Tucson.
“When we were making “Gunfight at Rio Bravo” in 2021, I fell in love with Arizona, and I’m very happy to be back and present it,” said the action film’s main star and three-time Mr. Universe Alexander Nevsky.
“I love shooting in Arizona. We filmed at a marvelous place called Gammon’s Gulch, close to the legendary Tombstone,” said film director Joe Cornet.
Gunfight at Rio Bravo is out in limited theatres, on DVD, Digital and On-Demand in North America from Shout! Studios!
